East Meadow McDonald's Joins Fight Against Hunger

Non-perishable food items will be collected through Dec. 30 for the Island Harvest Food Bank.

For the fourth consecutive year, McDonald's has lent all of its Long Island locations, including one in East Meadow, as donation centers for the Island Harvest Food Bank.

“As one of the largest and most recognizable franchises on Long Island, we greatly appreciate McDonald’s participation in our Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign,” said Randi Shubin Dresner, president and CEO of Island Harvest. “With this expanded reach and visibility, Island Harvest will be able to provide more families with a nutritious holiday meal.”

More than 300,000 Long Islanders — 110,000 of them children — face the risk of going hungry each year, according to Island Harvest.
