Eagle Scout Refurbishes Korean War M42 at Eisenhower Park

Legis. Norma L. Gonsalves, R-East Meadow, recently attended Boy Scout Troop 192 Eagle Court of Honor for Gabriel M. Ferreri, which took place at Bellmore Presbyterian Church.  

Ferreri, a resident of Bellmore, undertook a project to refurbish a Korean War M42 Duster Anti-Aircraft vehicle located in Eisenhower Park. The project involved stripping rust from the tank, repainting the tank and the tank’s fenced enclosure.  

His project was sponsored by the Korean War Veterans Association, Nassau County Chapter One.

"Gabriel has displayed great dedication and focus to accomplish his goals,” Gonsalves said. “He has given back to his community and serves as a wonderful role model for future scouts.”
