11/12/13: East Meadow Couple Counts on Love by the Numbers

Gaetan J. Pamphile and Latasha Thomas pick "fun date" for wedding.

Gaetan J. Pamphile will have no excuse if he forgets his wedding anniversary: he selected Tuesday for his wedding to Latasha Thomas because of the date's sequential numbers: 11/12/13.

Thomas, a labor and delivery registered nurse at Huntington Hospital, and Pamphile, manager of the department of registrar at Long Island University's C.W. Post campus, will wed Tuesday, a date that many see as significant because of the sequential numbers. That, in fact, is why Pamphile liked the date, Thomas said.

"The numbers seemed to fall in sequence with what he considers his lucky numbers 11-11, which is his birth date," she said. "He loves to say the day of his birthday 11-11. So he thought it would be so awesome to have a cool anniversary date, and how fitting this year comes 11-12-13. It was right up his alley!"

They plan to marry in a civil ceremony and have their wedding reception at Prime restaurant.

"My friends think it is an awesome date, but some family initially responded with "but that's a Tuesday!" We are having a civil service and knew that whether we got married at a courthouse or a chapel we would forever have that awesome date," Thomas said.

She said that her fiancé "has always felt superstitious about his birthday, but in a good way. He is always saying how lucky he is is to have his birthday as 11-11. He loves it!"

The East Meadow couple met on match.com "so nothing was ever traditional about our relationship. Things have always been very spontaneous with us, so I jumped on board with his fun date 11-12-13," she said. "We just feel so blessed that everyone is so excited about our union, and such an awesome and memorable day!"
