Temple Emanu-El Collecting Food For Island Harvest

More than 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items have already been donated.

A generous congregation has already donated more than 1,000 pounds of food for Island Harvest through a collection going on now at Temple Emanu-El of East Meadow.

The collection of non-perishable food items will continue through Thursday's Simchat Torah/Shmini Atzeret/Yizkor service, which is being held between 10:15 and 11:45 a.m.

Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, delivers millions of pounds food to a network of 570 Long Island-based food pantries, soup kitchens and other non-profit organization that offer feeding services for those in need.
