Sports Equipment Drive Kicks Off in East Meadow

A sports equipment drive kicked off in East Meadow Wednesday at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in Eisenhower Park.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano joined representatives from Children’s Sport Connection and Adults and Children with Learning & Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD).

Local children and their parents made the first donations, including Erica Rodriquez and his father Robert of Massapequa; Patrick Duffy of Massapequa; JP KilCullen of Garden City; Dean D’Accolti of Seaford; Kevin Duggan of Franklin Square; Anthony D’Accolti of Seaford; Matthew Field and his parents, Marc and Lori Field, of East Rockaway; Sam Moser of Baldwin; Matt Unterberg of Merrick; Matt Brown of Hewlett; Evan Zaransky of East Rockaway; Tyler Peresiper of East Rockaway; Ryan Wainer of East Rockaway; Chris Altomare of Bellmore; Adam Greene of Merrick; and Kara Ognibene of Merrick.

The month-long drive is collecting gently used sports equipment now through Nov. 15. All donated items will benefit ACLD as well as children from various county programs, Mangano said.

Gently used and new golf clubs, baseball mitts, tennis racquets, skates, balls - and any other sports-related items - can be dropped off at the following locations:
