Nassau Organizations Team Up to Help Long Beach Kids

Residents and businesses can donate sports equipment through Aug. 26.

The Nassau County Police Department, Police Activity League and the Children’s Sport Connection are joining forces to distribute donated sporting equipment to children in Long Beach affected by superstorm Sandy.

The equipment will be distributed to children who use the Long Beach Martin Luther King Center, which was damaged by the storm. 

The center reopens on Aug. 31. 

Donations of gently used and new sports equipment will be collected through Aug. 26 at the following Police Precincts and PAL locations:
