March of Dimes to Host Charity Walk in East Meadow

The event will take place in Eisenhower Park.

March of Dimes will host its annual charity walk, March for Babies, in Eisenhower Park on Sunday.

The organization, which will celebrate its 75 anniversary this year, has helped more than 4 million babies in the United States through research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs.

The March of Dimes Foundation is a non-profit organization that has a mission to improve the health of mothers and their babies. It was created by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1938 to combat polio. The foundation later started promoting general help for mothers and babies.

The event will begin in Eisenhower Park at 9 a.m.

Interested walkers and donors can visit marchforbabies.org to sign up as an individual or family, start a team or donate.
