Kiwanis Holiday Food Drive This Weekend

Last year, East Meadow Kiwanis delivered Christmas dinners to 109 local families in need.

This year, that number may grow, according to Kiwanian Ivan Launer.

"We depend on donations from East Meadow residents to supplement our fundraising activities throughout the year," he said.

Kiwanis will hold another holiday food drive this weekend, accepting donations of non-perishable food and/or monetary donations of any size.

The tables will be set up in front of Waldbaum's located at 1530 Front Street in East Meadow beginning at 9:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The organization's November drive, also in front of Waldbaum's, collected enough food to deliver Thanksgiving meals to 114 families.
