Fundraiser Sunday for Dennis Carley

East Meadow resident was critically injured in a motorcycle accident July 17.

A fundraiser will be held at RC Dugans Sunday, 5-8 p.m., for Dennis Carley, who was critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Delaware July 17.

Carley, who grew up in East Meadow, failed to negotiate a slight curve in the road, hit a curb with the motorcycle’s front tire and was thrown from the bike, according to Delaware police. Carley was flown to a Delaware hospital in critical conditions according to an article on www.delawareonline.com.

According to a Facebook page created to help spread the word about Sunday's fundraiser, Carley's family is "blue collar working class Americans like most of us and could really use the money, love and support of everyone of you who are friends with Dennis."

Admission is $40 and includes top shelf open bar and domestic bottles; $20 of that will go to Dennis' family and hospital bills. A 50/50 raffle will also be offered for $10 per ticket. Fifty percent goes to the winner while the other 50 percent goes to the fund.
