Fundraiser for East Meadow Church Nov. 22-24

St. Francis Polish National Catholic Church is celebrating its 81st anniversary this year.

A fundraiser will be held the weekend of Nov. 22-24 for St. Francis Polish National Catholic Church in East Meadow, which is celebrating its 81st anniversary this year.

Back in 1932, a group of dedicated people organized the church using their skills, time and finances to erect the brick building on Harton Avenue. Prime Bishop Hodur blessed the cornerstone after breaking ground for the new church in June 1932. In November of that year, Prime Bishop Hodur returned to East Meadow to consecrate the completed church building.

A live theatrical comedy performance, "The Table," will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. at the St. Francis Polish National Church Hall located at 1752 Harton Avenue.

Advance tickets are $12 by calling MCAP at 783-8863 or $15 at the door on show day.

The show is presented by Middle Class American Productions (MCAP), owned by East Meadow residents John and Joni Blenn.

John Blenn was recently featured as an actor in "Here Comes the Boom" with Kevin James, Henry Winkler and Salma Hayek.
