The East Meadow Fire Department will hold its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Oct. 3 from noon - 4 p.m. at Fire Headquarters, located at 197 East Meadow Avenue. This free event gives residents a chance to thank the volunteers who so bravely serve our community. It is also an opportunity to view live demonstrations, obtain free handouts with lifesaving fire prevention tips, and enjoy refreshments. Kids can meet Smokey the Bear and get to ride on a real fire truck. October is Fire Prevention Month so add this timely event to your calendar.
