Donate blood and save a life on Mar. 21 from 10:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Long Island Blood Services mobile collection unit in the parking lot of 400 Garden City Plaza in Garden City.
Donors are a vital part to the stability of the blood supply, which saves lives everyday. Though every type of blood is needed, type O is in particular demand right now and anyone who could donate would help out local hospitals.
Participants must have a photo (or signature) ID, be at least 110 lbs., not have had any new tattoos within the past twelve months and eat and drink before coming to donate. Those between 16 ad 75 are eligible, with 16 year olds requiring parental permission and those over 75 must have a doctors note.
