East Meadow Family 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer'

Debbie Iadevaio, along with her two kids, is taking part in the American Cancer Society's walkathon to honor her mother and friends, all breast cancer survivors.

Debbie Iadevaio of East Meadow, along with her two kids, will honor her mother and friends, all breast cancer survivors, at the American Cancer Society's annual walkathon Oct. 20 at Jones Beach.

Iadevaio, a 14-year resident who works as an independent Scentsy family consultant, is also hosting an online fundraiser in which all proceeds are being donated to this cause.

"We are walking in honor of my mother and a few of our dear friends who are breast cancer survivors," Iadevaio said. "We are walking with Gabrielle's dance school, Impressions Dance, in Levittown."

Gabrielle is a second-year Brownie Girl Scout in Troop 1811, of which Debbie is leader, and Anthony is a Weblos II Cub Scout in Pack 362.

"We have done several other walkathons before but this is the first time for American Cancer Society," Debbie said.
