Blazing Trails for Autism Run/Walk Nov. 23 in East Meadow

Net proceeds will benefit the Eden II and Genesis Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing funds for programs and services that support individuals with autism, including the Genesis School.

A race to raise needed funds for programs and services that support individuals with autism will start and finish at The Genesis School in East Meadow this month.

The sixth annual Blazing Trails 4 Autism 4 Mile Run/Walk, presented by Men on the Move, will take place Saturday, Nov. 23, at 9:30 a.m. The cost to register is $18 for Greater Long Island Running Club members, $20 for the general public and $25 the day of the event.

The Genesis School moved from Plainview to its new location at 600 Newbridge Road, on the grounds of St. Raphael's Parish, in August. School and adult day services are now offered to 52 students and adults at one location.

"We are thrilled that Men on the Move joined the Eden II and Genesis Foundation as our lead sponsor of the 6th Annual Blazing Trails 4 Autism- 4 Mile Run/Walk. Men on the Move won us over when they moved our entire Long Island operations to our new location in East Meadow; which will be the start and finish of this year’s race," said Randy Horowitz, deputy executive director of Long Island Programs and an avid runner.

"We look forward to hosting runners, volunteers, spectators and supporters as we run, jog and walk through our new neighborhood to raise autism awareness and build long lasting community partnerships.”
