UPDATE: East Meadow Residents Regain Power

Less than five homes are dealing with issues, according to LIPA's Storm Tracker.

East Meadow residents have known for days that the big winter storm of 2010 was coming, and they have not been disappointed.

Snow has picked up intensity since it began coming down early Sunday with high winds and limited visibility, and many people have resolved to spending the day inside.

As of Monday at 2:30 p.m., less than five East Meadow houses are having electricity problems, according to LIPA's storm tracker. According to the web site, LIPA officials are "assessing the condition" of the few homes left with power issues.

Check below for a photo gallery of what the snow has done to East Meadow thus far.

The winter storm is a developing story, and East Meadow Patch will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
