Weekend Planner: Animal Rescue Zumbathon and Al Jardine

Where/When: NYCB Theatre at Westbury; Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Rock out at the Westbury Theatre after a long week at work. Led Zeppelin 2 will be performing for everyone’s enjoyment. A great way to unwind on a Friday night!

Pricing: $29.50
 

Where/When: Last Hope Adoption Center in Wantagh; Saturday, Sept. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Join other animal lovers for this great opportunity to contribute to an excellent cause while having fun exercising. The adoption center will also be open during the event, so participants can seet some of the dogs and cats available. Additionally, there will be a table of feather hair extensions from “Hair by Victoria,” a book sale and raffles.
Pricing: $10 per person.
 

Where/When: ; Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy the warmer temperatures while they last with this evening concert in the park. Al Jardine, a Beach Boy, and the Rip Cords will be playing tunes for the audience starting at 7:30 p.m. Remember to bring a chair or blanket!
Pricing: Free.
 

Where/When: ; Sunday, Sept. 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: Winthrop University Hospital’s Cancer Center for Kids will be holding a run-walk and yogathon to raise money for the center. All are encouraged to attend, as there will be post-race refreshments, crafts for children and entertainment.
Pricing: $20 pre-registration, $25 for day of event. Children receive a discount.
 

Where/When: ; Sunday, Sept. 18 from 12 to 2 p.m.
Why Go: Join the temple for a day filled with fun for the whole family. There will be games, food, bounce rides, face painting and more. This is open and free for current and prospective members. For additional information, please call (516) 794-8911 or email EmanuelOffice@optonline.net.
