Sept. 9: Merrick Man Sentenced, Remembering 9/11, Crime Report

Some things to keep an eye out for in the local community.

  1. Evan Sachs, a Merrick man who stabbed an eight-year-old boy in the back at a Westbury arcade, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Sachs, 24, pleaded guilty in July to attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the second degree.
