Dog Run Coming to Eisenhower Park

Residents have been calling for a dog run for many months in East Meadow, and it looks like their dream is about to come true.

Legis. Norma Gonsalves, R-East Meadow, says that the proposed dog run, which will be located between Salisbury Park Drive and Stewart Avenue right off of Old Country Road in , has been given the go-ahead, and the project is now in the design phase.

"Right now, they are working to acquire funding to do the fencing," Gonsalves said. "But they are definitely moving forward. People have been waiting a long time for this."

After funding is acquired and the fencing is built, the next step will be to plant some new trees at the location. Gonsalves said that she hopes that the dog run will be available to the public by the fall.

"We're very excited about it," Gonsalves said. "Not only will our resident be able to enjoy this, but their pets will as well."
