For those lacking power and looking for showers, Nassau County has responded.
Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano announced Tuesday that the shower facilities at Cantiague Park in Hicksville and North Woodmere Park will be available for residents' use on Wednesday. Cantigue Park will be available from 8-10 a.m. and 6-8 p.m., while North Woodmere Park will welcome residents from 9-11 a.m. and 7-9 p.m.
“Many of our residents have been inconvenienced while LIPA works to restore power throughout Nassau County," Mangano said. "Accordingly, I welcome anyone who may be in need to visit shower facilities at our County pools."
Mangano also invited residents to attend to free movies "under the stars" at Eisenhower Park's Lakeside Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. Wednesday's showing will be "Iron Man 2," while "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" will show on Thursday night.
