Wild Cherryz Dance and Fitness Studio Opens in East Meadow

The business opened on Monday.

Roseann Fiorilla of Massapequa said that she loves to dance, so she followed her favorite fitness instructor, , to East Meadow.

Fiorilla took the very first Zumba class at , which opened its doors on Monday evening.

"Me and Liz go way back," she said. "She is a fabulous teacher. I loved the class because it is fun and it does not feel like you are exercising." 


DeGennaro, owner of the Wild Cherryz Dance and Fitness studio and an East Meadow native, said that she was thrilled with the number of people who participated in classes on her opening day.

"I am excited and very happy with the turnout," she said.

The studio, located at 386 East Meadow Ave., offers classes such as: Ballet Bar Fitness, Pole Dancing, Boxing, Burlesque, Yoga, Zumba and Cardio Hip Hop Funk for Kids. Personal training and private dance lessons are also available.

On Monday night, more than 15 women moved their bodies to Salsa and Hip Hop.

Noreen Diaz of East Meadow said that the classes will not only help her to stay fit, but they are something she takes part in to spend some quality time with her daughter, Jenna.

"I love the them" the 55-year-old said. "Liz is great and people my age should really do exercises like these."

At the end of the class, women assured DeGennaro that they will return to her studio.

"I feel like all the hard work was worth it," she said.

Wild Cherryz Dance and Fitness Studio will have a its grand opening party on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. The event will include a free fitness class and refreshments.
