RUB BBQ Replaced by Kansas City Smokehouse

The change was made just months after RUB BBQ moved in.

Less than five months after RUB BBQ in East Meadow, the eatery has been replaced by Kansas City Smokehouse.

Singh Hospitality Group brought RUB BBQ, which is widely known for its New York City location, to East Meadow in August of 2010, and Kansas City Smokehouse is under Singh as well.

"It’s almost the same as what we were doing there before, but we are offering a lot more options than we were allowed to when we franchised out to RUB BBQ," Corporate Chef Dave Salony said.

According to Salony, there was a dispute between RUB BBQ and Singh Hospitality group and RUB BBQ, so the decision was made to break away from the franchise and move in another direction. Salony couldn't provide further details because of pending litigation.

"We’re a smokehouse that offers ribs, steak, burgers, fish, chicken," Salony added. "It’s a wide variety."

Kansas City Smokehouse is open on Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Representatives from RUB BBQ could not be immediately reached for comment.

Not sure why that happened. May have been a technical error.
