Richard Madhok has been appointed the new chief of Neurosurgery at the . Madhok will be practicing at both NUMC and the Cushing Institute of Neuroscience at the North Shore University Hospital.

"Dr. Madhok possesses superb skills that are focused on providing quality neurosurgical services not previously available to NUMC's patients, in a manner that puts patients and families first and foremost."
Madhok completed his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, where he also completed a fellowship in endoscopic skull base surgery. Dr. Madhok specializes in minimally invasive neurosurgery, endoscopic neurosurgery, pituitary surgery, skull base surgery, cerebrovascular disorders, spine surgery, brain tumors and trigeminal neuralgia.

Madock is pleased to be a part of NUMC.

Madock recently performed a very rare spinal surgery on Ruth Gutierrez, who is forever grateful to the doctor for helping her get back on her feet.
