Patch Picks: Relaxation at Local Spas

Sometimes you need to pamper yourself because life is stressful; Patch has found some of the best spots to refresh your mind, body and soul.

This week, East Meadow Patch searched for local spas that truly pamper their customers. We found spas that offer traditional services, eastern medicine and hair treatments; as well as full body wraps and couples massages. Description: This full service salon and spa, located right in East Meadow, offers everything from manicures, pedicures, waxing, massages and so much more. Take advantage of the hydrating facial ($120 & up) or a microdermabrasion ($150). They also reportedly do a pretty darn good job on the widely popular Japanese hair straightening ($250 and up) and the Brazilian straightening ($200 and up). Packages come in all shapes and sizes, sure to fit everyone’s needs and budget.

Description: Looking for something a little different than a traditional spa? Phoenix Eastern Medicine Center will sooth your mind, body and soul. They offer spa treatments, including facials, salt scrubs, therapeutic massages and cellulite treatments, in addition to alternative practices such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and yoga. Guests will leave this establishment feeling refreshed and ready to get back to their busy life.

Description: This spa and salon literally has every service one could dream of indulging in. Try out the aromatherapy facial ($100) to relax or a deep treatment facial ($85) to rid your skin of its impurities. Treat yourself to a makeup lesson ($150) from one of the trained staff members. They even have packages especially for men, such as facials and sports massages. All in all, this is undeniably a true full service salon and spa. Plus, they also have a location at the Source Mall in Westbury!

Description: Though technically in North Bellmore, many East Meadow residents frequent this popular spot because of its close proximity. This space occupies two adjacent storefronts, one of which houses the basic nail salon and the other holds the spa services. Nail care is top notch and professional, while spa options are extensively soothing and decadent. Try the oxygen facial ($135) to reinvigorate your complexion or a botionol treatment ($170), which is meant to bring life back to skin that has aged. Packages include anything from the mini spa, which lasts one hour and 45 minutes at $80, to a deluxe spa day, compassing seven hours at $450.

Description: Besides the usual spa treatments and services, O Spa features application of permanent makeup, eyelash extensions ($95) and slimming treatments. According to their website, special memberships ($120 annually) enable patrons to utilize the sauna, steam rooms and lockers for free, in addition to a 10 percent discount on products. Couples packages and a variety of others are also available. Tired of having that dull winter skin? Treat yourself to a chocolate sugar body scrub ($65 for non-members) or a seaweed body wrap ($85 for non-members).
