Walmart announced on Wednesday that Nadine Negron has been named the store manager for its new Neighborhood Market in Levittown, slated to open this July in Mews Plaza.

The new Neighborhood Market will be the first ever in the New York area and will replace the former Walbaums.

Ms. Negron has been with Walmart for four years and is serving as store manager for the first time. She began her Walmart career as an assistant manager trainee and later moved on to be a fashion assistant manager at Walmart in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, the company said in a release.

Ms. Negron brings with her 15 years of retail experience at various supermarkets, including Whole Foods Market and Kings Food Markets, where she served as assistant store manager and store manager. A former culinary school graduate, Ms. Negron looks forward to bringing her passion for food and customer service to her new position in Levittown, the company said.

“I’m proud to be a part of Long Island’s first Walmart Neighborhood Market, bringing Levittown families a new option for quality, fresh foods at more affordable prices,” Negron said.

The company recently opened up a hiring center at the former Total Sports Performance in Levittown as they plan to hire 90 associates to work at the new location.

The Walmart Neighborhood Market in Levittown will provide local shoppers with a smaller format option for all their grocery needs, including fresh produce, bakery and pharmacy services, the company said.

The first Neighborhood Market opened in 1998, and today there are approximately 250 Neighborhood Market stores nationwide.
