Muscle Maker Grill Coming to East Meadow

Franchise will replace Sarku on Hempstead Turnpike, which closed in July.

Muscle Maker Grill is coming to East Meadow.

The new restaurant is expected to open in two to three weeks and will replace Sarku at 2565 Hempstead Turnpike, which closed in July.

Franchise owners Nick Galanis and Tommy Regoukos bring 15 years of combined restaurant experience to the Muscle Maker Grill team.

“The Muscle Maker Grill concept provides consumers with exactly what they are seeking - better-tasting, healthier food choices,” said Galanis.

The East Meadow location will mark the fifth on Long Island; other locations include Merrick, Long Beach, Huntington Station and Amityville.

Muscle Maker Grill was founded in 1995 by Rod Silva, a fitness enthusiast who wanted to offer people a nutritious alternative to fast food restaurants.

A new, "Lighter Side" menu offers salads and wraps for under 400 calories. Heart healthy soups and "Fit Salads" are also available, like the Lean & Mean Cheeseburger Salad and the Mardi Gras Cajun Grilled Chicken Salad. Vegetarian, carb-free and gluten-free meals are also offered.
