Jake's Wayback Burgers Hosts Burger Eating Contest

The winner will take home an iPad2, and qualify for a $1,000 grand prize.

, with 50 open locations, announced that it will kick off its fifth annual Chowdown Showdown Burger Eating Contest on Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. at participating locations.

Contestants are challenged to devour the Triple Triple Burger, a nine patty burger with nine slices of cheese, lettuce and tomatoes in the fastest time. The winner with the fastest time at each location will win an iPad2 and will be entered in the Wayback Burgers Facebook video contest, “Why Wayback is Waybetter” for a chance to win $1,000 cash prize

The 5th Annual Chowdown Showdown Burger Eating contest will take place at the following Jake’s Wayback Burgers New York locations:

  • Brooklyn
  • Hartsdale
  • Long Beach
  • East Meadow
  • East Northport

Additionally, to qualify for the Wayback Burgers Facebook video contest, the contestant at each participating location must finish the Triple Triple Burger in the fastest time possible. Once complete, a short video will be taken with the winners new iPad2, explaining why they think “Wayback is Waybetter.” The video will be submitted to Wayback Burgers Facebook Fan page, giving the fans a chance to vote for Triple Triple Champ and $1,000 cash prize. Entry fee is $20 per qualifying round. Registration deadline is Aug. 5.
