House of Addixion Taking Part in Coliseum Tattoo Expo

For Thomas Giglio, the United Ink Tattoo and Body Arts Expo is the perfect way to get his tattoo parlor's name to the public.

, located at 2560 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, has been open since Feb. 18. Giglio says business has been picking up little by little as time goes by.

"It started out real quick from the get-go," Giglio said. "And it just keeps getting better each month."

Giglio is good friends with the owner of , and he spent a lot of his time in East Meadow. When he thought about opening his own tattoo shop, this seemed like the perfect spot.

The Franklyn Square resident is pulling out all the stops, as Vanne Ateca has been brought in from Ibiza, Spain, to work at the shop and participate in the expo as well.

"It’s a milestone for us," Giglio said. "I want to expose our name more, and I want more people to hear of the shop."

"I’m very excited to meet, and to see, how other artists work," Ateca told Patch. "These are artists that I would not normally get the chance to meet."

House of Addixion will have a booth at the event and several artists will be working the three-day extravaganza. Vendors will be doing implants, body piercings and there will be a suspension show as well.

"It means a tremendous amount," Matthew Murphy, another HOI artist, said. "It’s excellent to be able to tattoo with some of the best in the world."

"It’s a different vibe from being in Spain," Ateca added. "But being able to express my style here is great."
