Former Prudential Building Remains Vacant

Employees from nearby businesses said that the property has been vacant for months.

Located at 2373 Hempstead Tpke., the former Prudential Real Estate building has been vacant for months.

Jay Kumar, manager of the adjacent Blimpie, said that the storefront has been closed since June.

"I have been here for 10 years and it has always been a Prudential," he said. "I can't think of anything else moving in there unless it was another insurance company."

Jesse Gultz, manager of the nearby Pearle Vision, said that he thinks that the spot will be difficult to fill because it is located between two eateries--Blimpie and the vacant Kansas City Smokehouse.

"I want to see something go in there and I hope it is not another gold buyer," he said. "Maybe another insurance company will work."

What do you think should fill the property? Tell us in the comments below.

As much as it kills me to have this in East Meadow, What I think might work in a space like that in this town and because its size is probably big enough, is an Applebees, Fridays, Chili's or similar.

Danielle - - you really need to change the spelling of Pearl Vision. The error has been up for over 5 hours and makes me think of other errors now.
