Former Convenience Store Remains Vacant

Landlord says the storefront is still up for grabs.

East Meadow Avenue appears to have suffered the brunt of the harsh economic times the country is currently battling, as the busy roadway is literally littered with empty storefronts; reminders of local businesses that took the plunge and failed to stand the test of time.

Among those empty storefronts is the former Lucky Convenience Store, located at 295 East Meadow Ave., and according to Ken, the owner of the strip mall it counts itself a part of, the store is available to sell.

“The store measures 1,000 square feet in size, and the rent is priced at $2,000 a month,” he said. “Right now the location is just being used for storage, so it’s just a big, empty space inside, but once an interested party takes possession, we can move everything out, and from there’s it’s an ideal fit for just about any kind of business.”

Ken said that currently there are no interested parties vying for the location, which has been vacant for about a year so far. However, he hopes to fill the space with an active business sooner rather than later.

Ken was also quick to point out that there are other vacancies in the strip mall as well.

“Next door, at 297 East Meadow Ave., is also available,” he said. “It’s actually a very nice location 1,000 square feet, it’s the same size as the convenience store, and it’s in very good condition.”
