Former Bagel Bakery Location Remains Vacant

Located between a thrift shop and a nail salon, the former Bagel Bakery at 500 Newbridge Road has remained vacant for about six months.

Craig Buckvar, owner of , said that he is not surprised.

"I have been here for three years and it's been open for only a month total between four owners," he said. "It never stays open."

The small storefront is surrounded by a pizzeria, a Portuguese restaurant,  beauty shops, a laundromat and a liquor store. Business owners have different ideas of what they would want to see open at the location, but they all agree that any business would be beneficial to the area.

"I want to see a mom and pop operation that cares for the community open," Peter Shah, owner of said.

Buckvar said that he would love to see another restaurant open.

"You can never go wrong with food," he said. "More choices would be great."

Shelly, one of the owners of said that there is one type of business that she would love to see open.

"A nice little coffee shop would be great," she said. "One that opens early."
