Five Things You Should Know About IDS Wellness

The new business opened on North Jerusalem Avenue this month.

With all the stresses that the summer can bring, why not take fitness classes to relax and most importantly stay fit?

IDS Wellness located at 2815 North Jerusalem Ave. can help you do just that. Here are Five Things You Should Know About IDS Fitness:

1. It is run by one of East Meadow's own: Chris Dibernardo, an East Meadow native and Massapequa resident, owns the business. The 31-year-old fitness trainer attended East Meadow High School and has lived in East Meadow for most of his life.

2. IDS Fitness offers a variety of fitness classes: The fitness studio has something for everyone! Classes include Zumba, strenghth training, TRX and yoga.

3. Clients can get nutritional advice: Anyone who signs up for a fitness package will get a free consultation with a registered dietician. If interested, clients can work with the dietician one-on-one during their fitness journey. The dietician also offers eight-week classes.

4. The studio offers Reiki: Reiki is a very specific form of energy healing, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands, according to the Integrative Medicine and Digestive Center.

5. It has a personal feel: Dibernardo, once a trainer in big gyms, said that he wants his clients to feel really at home. "I worked in other gyms and I did not like how the clients were treated. Here clients can get diet plans and cheaper rates. We take our time to get to really know the clients."
