East Meadow Mom Starts Online Bow Company

Theresa Martins of East Meadow created Ema Bela Bowtique, which offers custom made bows for young girls.

Theresa Martins, a mother of three and an East Meadow resident of seven years, loved making hair bows for her 2-year-old baby girl, Emily.

So one day Martins decided it was time to share her custom made head wear with the public and created the Ema Bela Bowtique.

"Finally I said to myself that so many moms who have girls love the cute, stylish bows to put in their hair, so why not take it to the next level and make them for others," she said.

Her 6-year-old son, Daniel, was so proud of his mother's new endeavor that he told other little girls at his school about it.

"They were all excited, so I created it on Facebook," Martins said.

Ema Bela Bowtique offers handmade custom bows for newborn to teenage girls. The pieces of head wear come in an array of colors, some with cartoon characters and holiday themes.

Martins said that she hopes that the East Meadow community will embrace her business.

"I am hoping everyone will love the bows just as much as I do," she said.
