East Meadow FedEx Slated to Close

The business located at 2575 Hempstead Turnpike will close on Friday.

Another big business on Hempstead Turnpike will shutter this week. FedEx will close its doors for good on Friday.

According to a store employee, the business is closing because it's in a location that is not visible to customers.

The storefront sits between Retro Fitness and T Mobile and is surrounded by other businesses such as Joyce Leslie, Moe's Southwest Grill,  Sherwin-Williams Paints and Texas Roadhouse

FedEx will join Potter's PubHooters and Zorns as big businesses that have shuttered along the busy road in less than a year.

Nokhaiz Osghar, an employee at T Mobile, agrees that FedEx is not located in the  best spot.

"FedEx really does not coordinate with other stores here that have huge signs to let people know they are here," he said.

Anthony Montoya, an employee at Yogurt Crazy, said that he is very surprised about the closing.

"I see people always coming out of there and business always seems to be doing well," he said. "I would never suspect that it would close or any of the stores around here because they all have good business."

The nearest FedEx to the East Meadow location is at 25 Newbridge Road in Hicksville.

What do you think about FedEx closing this week? What do you think should open in the space?
