Best Yet Market Coming to East Meadow

Best Yet Market officials have confirmed plans to open in East Meadow.

The store, which opened its first Long Island location in 1994 in Lake Ronkonkoma, also has LI locations in Coram, Farmingdale, Franklin Square, East Northport, Hicksville, Huntington Station, Massapequa, New Hyde Park, Oakdale, East Patchogue, Riverhead, Shirley, West Babylon and West Islip.

They plan to move in at 1980 Hempstead Turnpike, which was the former home of Pearl Paint. Officials told Patch they plan on opening by the spring.

"The area has great traffic flow," Jonathan Sender, the Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Best Yet Market, said. "There are a lot of businesses nearby. The town is in need of a fresh market with wholesome foods at affordable prices."

The location is 30,600 square feet on an 11-acre lot, which features about 450 parking spaces, according to LoopNet.com. Situated in between the Wantagh and Meadowbrook Parkways, this is a well-traveled area of Hempstead Turnpike.

That's Great News. Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow is the Perfect location for Best Yet Market. I remember when Modells had a market there.

See I lived up to my promise. Had the homeless move on. Is it permanent, who knows but we will certainly keep an eye on it.,
lillian December 18, 2013 at 08:09 PM
Yeah Paul! you had the homeless move on! what a VICTORY! Must be a very satisfying feeling , making them some one else's "problem" Ah tis the season.
Brent M. December 18, 2013 at 10:12 PM
@Paul .. the GREEN GRINCH is back!! Isn't everyone human being someone else's Problem one way or another....??? .... guess Lillian can't just give you the moment.. she has to put you down!.. I say good job Paul.. doing something is better then doing nothing!
paul December 19, 2013 at 07:23 PM
To Lillian: Not only did we have him move on he is being tended to. He is getting the help that he needs. Obama care is good. LOL He would have the medical attention needed whether it was Obama care or not.
lillian December 19, 2013 at 07:43 PM
Paul....my hero lololol
Brent M. December 19, 2013 at 08:24 PM
Paul .. can you make another call about someone else who obviously needs Help.. again!!! LOL..
lillian December 20, 2013 at 02:24 PM
Brent don't be mad because some one is poking back at your mentor calling him out and showing what a wonderful caring " human " he is. He does nothing but complain and then when he does something decent he blows his own horn.
paul December 20, 2013 at 02:32 PM
Complain? Definitely not. Educate others - definitely, not complain. Seems like you may need some additional life skills.
Susan December 20, 2013 at 05:45 PM
I'm wishing that the Patch had a "Like" button like Facebook does. Lillian, you definitely hit the nail on the head with your last comment. :)

Susan I believe that is what the recommend link underneath each post is for.
Susan December 21, 2013 at 12:02 AM
EM Resident, it's not. It just 'recommends' the posting to your friends. Click it and watch what comes up when you do.
lillian December 21, 2013 at 12:50 AM
Paul you 't educate, you make it your business to belittle every ones response to any comment made about any subject. Sad part is I believe you truly think you are being helpful, but here is a life skill lesson for you....no one really likes a wiseguy, at first your a funny distraction but after a while your like rash itchy and annoying.
Brent M. December 21, 2013 at 06:35 AM
@Lillian.. you sure you want to be throwing stones?? If you look at several of your last comments.. what positive things have you said lately... other than pointing the finger at everyone else?? Just asking.. just words...
lillian December 21, 2013 at 12:03 PM
brent brent LOLOL can it be your at a loss for a good come back? same old reply.... can't take the heat? get out of the kitchen. Now you know how it feels when i see you or paul commenting......Not pointing finger at anyone but you two.....

EM Resident December 21, 2013 at 09:19 PM
If people on this site cannot even get along, how do you ever expect the community of East Meadow (presumably that is why we are here on East Meadow Patch?) to come together as a whole and improve things?
Jeanne Shea Herring December 22, 2013 at 08:05 AM
EM resident, I totally agree. My only goal is to try to make East Meadow the best place it can be. I really believe if we got a group of concerned people together, we could make very positive changes in East Meadow.
Rebecca December 22, 2013 at 11:03 AM
I don't know that we need yet another supermarket, but I love that the company seems to treat its employees well: 401k with match, health and dental insurance, donating to charity... so this is good news! Careful though - the Town Board will do anything to minimize the size of this market and take their pound of flesh from anyone looking to occupy this long-vacant space!
Brent M. December 22, 2013 at 11:27 AM
Exactly.. Paul did something good.. and other residents have done good things.. and got results.. Lillian just needs to pad her ego and give a golf clap only.. its ok.. her mommy should arrive and her medication should kick in any day now. Great Job East Meadow Residents!!!
lillian December 22, 2013 at 01:02 PM
Brent your so predictable .....1st amendment, now meds lol. All any of you do is complain about the local government but you keep voting the same incompetence in year after year. Stop blaming them take a look at the choices you all have made.
Brent M. December 22, 2013 at 09:19 PM
Really.. you know who I voted for? Your psychic? I am so predictable??? .. wow.. definitely need to up those medications or shock treatments.. tell Mommy to hold you alittle more tonight too...
lillian December 23, 2013 at 12:59 AM
LOL Aw come on brent....your very amusing my family and friends look forward to your mindless come backs by far this is the best yet! Thanks for the giggles, geeze I kinda wonder what the conversation would be like if you didn't always fall back on using the words, meds and 1st amendment and dragging my deceased mother into your hysterically funny rants. Maybe a glimmer of intelligence.....hmmm I was kinda hoping you would have taken that path. Anyway since you can't handle that, I will take my leave on this subject...ta ta (that means good-bye). :)
Brent M. December 23, 2013 at 08:52 AM
@Lillian.. Yeah you really got me there!!! Wow , your the best .. so what now.. going to make some more chats.. ok go ahead i don't mind.. its just words.. see you.. remember to have the doctor up the meds!!! Maybe the homeless can hold you now instead .. haha .. actually I shouldn't insult the homeless like that... oh well..
Brent M. December 23, 2013 at 08:55 AM
@Paul.. more garbage has just been removed !! and thanks again for the help getting the homeless help and removed.. you should get a tip of the cap.. and not in a sarcastic way!! The area is looking better already
