What's Hot on Nots Landing

There is a new airlines out of Republic Airport that specializes in transporting animals (NOT humans or non breathing cargo) which, I guess, gives new meaning to the phrase, "When pigs fly."

I have come to realize that blogging can be a ton of fun and I do not understand why more people do not do it.

I have done over 30 different blog stories on a variety of different topics and have enjoyed writing each one immensely. Here at the East Meadow Patch, the editor is a jovial, easy going gentleman that is a cross between a young Perry White (“Great Caesar’s Ghost!”) and even younger Louie Anderson (“it’s easier than joining the gym”).

While all of my blogs are generally educational, informative and especially humorous, here you can blog about almost anything and give your opinion on nearly every topic . I am very, very surprised that more people don’t sign up to do it.

My editor has told me that I never need to fear to express myself, but to write about the subjects that I know about. Now I know a little about many subjects, a lot about a few things and everything about my opinion. And you would be surprised at the kalediescope of factual conglomerations that fill my cranium.

But you have to agree that NOT everything posted on the internet is true, honest or factual.

I know that "fear" stands for false evidence appearing real, and there is nothing to fear but fear itself. But like fear, there is what is real and what is perceived as real, and that life can be a series of misunderstandings. As many times reality is one thing and NOT the other.

For example...

‘Roid  Rage: has to do with steroid abuse and NOT the fact that people are upset that they can’t buy Polaroid instant print film anymore.

Crabgrass: has to do with garden weeds and NOT a Fire Island surf and turf restaurant special.

Squandering Borrowed Money: has to do with our national debt and not the fact that Americans spent 76 million dollars to see the "Smurf" movie.

A Styptic Pencil: has to do with being a tube-like device that restricts the flow of blood from a minor cut or nick and NOT something that the new assistant superintendent of your school district suggests your child bring to their eighth grade ELA exam.

A Sweepstakes: has to do with an organized contest based on random selection and not something that the janitor cooks in his barbeque.

Defensive Posture: has to do with a prosecutor asking you if you purchased and liquor on the night of your DUI and you saying “a fifth” and mistakenly NOT pleading the fifth amendment to begin with.

So when it comes to what is reality and what is posted on the internet, you can NOT and Should NOT believe everything you read (maybe unless it is printed in the East Meadow Patch).
