View Finder: Jackson Browne Performs in Westbury

The music icon was just a hop and a skip away from East Meadow.

The following article and photos were submitted by Thomas Gillen.

He looked and sounded amazing at the ripe old age of 63! It was a very intimate setting, as the show only consisted of Jackson Browne, his acoustic guitars (10 in total) and his keyboard. The show had an even more personal feeling with only 2,000 people in attendance in the half-stage arrangement.

He played all of his classic hits including "Running On Empty," "Doctor My Eyes," "These Days," "The Birds of St. Marks," and "The Pretender." He was very interactive with the crowd and made a point of telling us that there was no set list, he would simply be playing what we wanted to hear; and that’s exactly what he did.

Jackson did his best to accommodate all of the requests pouring out from the crowd, and even covered a Warren Zevon song at the request of a fan!

All in all, after a 2 ½ hour performance, 2,000 people left the theatre with that nostalgic feeling having just witnessed a true songwriter do what he does best.  Jackson did not disappoint, to say the least.
