Local Kids Woo Judges with Ballroom Dance

Evan and Emily Carroll have been invited to the Nassau region's PTA reflections reception as well.

Evan and Emily Carroll, who came in second place in the contest for East Meadow's , have used their ballroom dancing skills to win Nassau County first place award in the New York State Reflections contest, and they will now compete with many talented kids at the New York State level.

The following is from the acceptance letter Evan and Emily received:

Congratulations! Your entry is a finalist in the 2011-2012 Nassau Region PTA Reflections Program. Our judges, using their expertise, selected your work of art for its originality and interpretation of the theme “Diversity Means” as one of our finest from over eleven hundred entries received by Nassau Region PTA from students throughout the county.

Evan and Emily, along with their family, have been invited to the Nassau region's PTA reflections reception, which will be held at 7 p.m. on April 18 at Brookside School in North Merrick.

"The kids performed the same dance at at the second variety concert on March 24 to a standing ovation," John Carroll, the young duo's father, said. "Our kids were called the future "dancing with the stars" couple by the audience."
