Memorial Day, aside from being the reason for a three-day weekend, the beginning of summer, and an excuse to barbeque, is a day for remembering and honoring those men and woman who died in military service to our country. It should be a time for reflection and appreciation of the sacrifices of our living Veterans who have also served, particularly those who have been wounded in combat. Whether or not you support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is undeniable that we owe these service members, and those of past conflicts, a debt of gratitude. When you see a Veteran say "Thank you". It is because of them we have our freedoms today......

From May 29, 2011 at 2:00 pm This Memorial Day, Thank a Veteran by Emily L. http://www.care2.com/causes/this-memorial-day-thank-a-veteran.html - Memorial Day, aside from being the reason for a three-day weekend, the beginning of summer, and an excuse to barbeque, is a day for remembering and honoring those men and woman who died in military service to our country. These Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen made the ultimate sacrifice, and they and their families deserve, at the very least, a quiet moment of thanks this Monday. In addition, it should be a time for reflection and appreciation of the sacrifices of our living Veterans who have also served, particularly those who have been wounded in combat. Whether or not you support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is undeniable that we owe these service members, and those of past conflicts, a debt of gratitude. -
