Bristal Sponsors Return of B-17 Flying Fortress

The Bristal Assisted Living facility, which has a location in East Meadow, will be sponsoring the return of military classic B-17 Flying Fortress Memorial Day weekend. The plane will be at the American Airpower Museum, located at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale, from May 24 through May 28 when it is not participating in the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show at Jones Beach.

“The object of this mission, and the role of every vintage American aircraft operating out of Republic Airport, is to ensure that Americans understand how the sacrifices made by others have allowed us to celebrate our democracy,” said Bristal partner Steve Krieger in a statement from the company. “It may be more poignant on Memorial Day weekend to honor these sacrifices, but there should not be a day when we do not recall the courage and valor required to defend our freedoms.”

Additionally, the plane will be offering flying experiences. Please email B17flights@yankeeairmuseum.org for additional information. For more information on the museum, visit its website at www.americanairpower.org.
