East Meadow Artist Has Work Displayed at Syosset Library

The display will be available through Feb. 27.

 

The work of Editorial Artist/Illustrator Katherine Trunk, an East Meadow resident, is on display in the Syosset Public Library’s art gallery through Feb. 27.

Trunk is a professional illustrator/artist and has produced illustrations which have appeared in National Review, The New York Sun and the America Press. Her illustrations have also appeared in numerous exhibits throughout Long Island.

Editorial Art is specialized visual art. It refers to illustrations or art which accompany articles, poetry and literary works. The work must be camera ready, and produced according to specifications such as size and themes; additionally the art must be completed within set deadlines. 

This display will feature numerous pieces within the context of how they appear in original form and how they appear in print. Also featured are additional illustrative pieces which Trunk has created.

Art runs in the Trunk family. Her late Granduncle, Herman Trunk Jr. was a pioneer in American modern art. His work appeared at the Whitney’s first and second Biennial. He is listed in the Smithsonian Archives’ of American Art.
