2012 Town of Hempstead Concert Series

A look at the who, what, when and where of this year's summer schedule.

The 2012 Town of Hempstead Summer Concert Series features 32 performances and a number of different artists from all types of muscial backgrounds.

Check out this year's schedule below:

  • Saturday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. -- Town Park, Point Lookout: The Annual Independence Salute with Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, with Bay Fireworks and a Salute to Veterans. Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits fame sings “I'm Into Something Good” and “Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter.” Rain date, Sunday, July 1.
  • Tuesday, July 3 at 8 p.m. -- Newbridge Road Park, Bellmore: Bad Medicine is “Livin' on a Prayer” with a Bon Jovi Tribute.
  • Thursday, July 5 at 8 p.m. -- Acorn Lane Park, Levittown: Who Are Those Guys? Just a great rock 'n' roll band.
  • Tuesday, July 10 at 8 p.m. -- Rath Park, Franklin Square: Relive the unforgettable sounds of the 50s with the Devotions.
  • Wednesday, July 11 at 8 p.m. -- Oceanside Park, Oceanside: Remember the hits “Cinderella” and “'Till Than” with Emil Stucchio and the Classics.
  • Thursday, July 12 at 8 p.m. -- Speno Park, East Meadow: “Start Me Up” with a Rolling Stones Tribute starring the Glimmer Twins.
  • Friday, July 13 at 8 p.m. -- Hendrickson Avenue Park, Elmont: Move and groove to the sounds of Pep & the Soul Explosion.
  • Saturday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. -- Baldwin Park, Baldwin: The dynamic Shirley Alston Reeves of Shirelles fame performs a special concert with post show fireworks sponsored by the Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.
  • Tuesday, July 17 at 8 p.m. -- Harold Walker Park, Lakeview: Barbara Harris and the Toys, one of the legendary girl groups of the rock 'n' roll era, plays.
  • Wednesday, July 18 at 8 p.m. -- Seamans Neck Park, Seaford: “Don't You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” when Higher Ground performs a Stevie Wonder Tribute.
  • Thursday, July 19 at 8 p.m. -- East Village Green, Levittown: Killer Joe and L'il Cliff & the Cliffhangers team up for a tribute to Blues Brothers night.
  • Friday, July 20 at 8 p.m. -- Merrick Road Park, Merrick: “What a Long Strange Trip it's Been,” so put on your tye dye shirt and enjoy Half Step in a Grateful Dead Tribute.
  • Monday, July 23 at 8 p.m. -- Coes Neck Park, Baldwin: A touch of Gospel with the incomparable Felita Rollins.
  • Tuesday, July 24 at 8 p.m. -- Echo Park, West Hempstead: Walking the Line sings the hits of Johnny Cash before an Astronomy Under the Stars program.
  • Wednesday, July 25 at 8 p.m. -- Terrace Gardens Park, Inwood: Tribal Legacy plays classic party music and great reggae.
  • Thursday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. -- Hewlett Point Park, Bay Park: “Remember Then” with Larry Chance and the Earls and the Renditions of South Florida.
  • Friday, July 27 at 8 p.m. -- Dutch Broadway Park, Elmont: Randy and the Rainbows sing the hit songs of the fabulous 60s.
  • Tuesday, July 31 at 8 p.m. -- Forest City Park, Wantagh: “Uptown Girl” and “The Stranger” are a couple of Songs in the Attic during a Billy Joel Tribute.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. -- Levittown Veterans Park, Levittown: Kick up your heels to the sounds of Darlene Prince and the Bragg Hollow Band.
  • Thursday, Aug. 2 at 8 p.m. -- Uniondale Avenue Park, Uniondale: The incredible sounds of Stages.
  • Friday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. -- Forest Road Elementary School, Valley Stream: The Manhattan Skyline sings classic oldies.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. -- Echo Park, West Hempstead: “We Will Rock You” with a Queen Tribute performed by Almost Queen.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. -- Seamans Neck Park, Seaford: “With or Without You” 2U plays a U2 Tribute.
  • Thursday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. -- Rock Hall Museum, Lawrence: The talented Linda Ipanema stages a Rosemary Clooney Tribute.
  • Friday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. -- Speno Park, East Meadow: Bell Bottom Blues performs a Tribute to Eric Clapton.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. -- East Village Green, Levittown: Wonderous Stories stages a British Invasion with music of the The Beatles and The Who.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. -- Rath Park, Franklin Square: Remembering Frank Sinatra with the music and memories of “Ol' Blue Eyes” himself with Steven Maglio.
  • Thursday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. -- Shell Creek Park, Barnum Island: “Reelin in the Years” with FM - A Steely Dan Tribute (formerly Stealin' Dan) in a Steely Dan Tribute.
  • Friday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. -- Roosevelt Pool, Roosevelt: A night of great music and dance with the Chauncey Nedd Band & the Nedd Man.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. -- Hewlett Point Park, Bay Park: Visit the “Hotel California” as Desert Highway plays an Eagles Tribute.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. -- Averill Boulevard Park, Elmont: “Tasty” rock 'n' roll with Long Island's own Good Rats.
  • Thursday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. -- Merrick Road Park, Merrick: Enjoy “Sherry” and “Walk Like A Man” as Rag Doll plays a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Tribute.
