Who's Who in East Meadow: Frank Maniscalco

Learn about some of the important people in the local community.

What do you do for a living?  I teach elementary music (orchestra) in the Oceanside School District. I also host a Sports Talk show (Sports Talk Live with Frankie the Sports Guy) on a local radio station (AM1240 WGBB). The show is one of many shows on the Sports Radio NY Network featured on the station.  I also appear on a Monday night show on the same station entitled Limo Talk with Graz.

How are you involved with East Meadow? I am very active in Cub Scouts and East Meadow Baseball. I also assisted East Meadow PAL as a Basketball coach.

What’s the best thing about East Meadow? As I have learned over the years, there is so much to do in East Meadow. Since it is centrally located in Nassau, we have the parks, the pools, so much shopping and more. As you can see, in my opinion it is not just one thing that is the best in East Meadow, it is a compilation of many things.

How did you end up in East Meadow? I lived in Levittown for about 27 years before I got married. I worked in East Meadow from 1989-1995 at Service Merchandise (now ) and met my wife through friends I worked with at Service Merchandise. After getting married in 1997 I have lived in East Meadow ever since.

What do you do for fun? I coach my son’s baseball and basketball team and also help out with Cub scouts. My family also tries to go on vacation during the summer since both my wife and I are teachers. We just came back from the Caribbean on a cruise. We also like to try and just have fun as a family by going to different places like and other fun places in East Meadow.

Tell me about your family. Do you have any children or grandchildren? I have a wonderful wife of 14 years (Bridget) and two great kids: Tommy (8) and Arianna (5).

What are your favorite places in East Meadow? When it comes to eating, I love and . Although I can get stressed out while shopping there, is my favorite place when it is time to stock up those shelves again with food.   and are two other great places that we go with the kids so they can play with their friends.
