Who's Who in East Meadow: Robert L. Harrison

Learning more about the important people in East Meadow.

What do you do for a living? I am a Nassau County worker in the museum division. Right now, I am assigned to the Photo Archives branch. I am also a freelance photographer for a number of communications ventures.

How are you involved with East Meadow? I, along with my wife Dorothy, have lived here for 33 years.

What’s the best thing about East Meadow? Besides the great people that live here, it is close to many things — the city, the beaches, the shopping, etc.

How did you end up in East Meadow? My wife and I were both going to college, (Adelphi and Hofstra) and were about to start raising a family so we looked at all possible communities in Nassau (we lived in Suffolk) and selected East Meadow for a number of reasons including having one of the best in the County.

What do you do for fun? I shoot photography, write poetry and do historic (local) research besides enjoying my family.

Tell me about your family? Do you have any children or grandchildren? I have two grown sons and both graduated from the system. One lives upstate and is employed in the computer field and my other son is a math teacher and will be married next year.

What are your favorite places in East Meadow? The many family owned eating places like , and the on Newbridge Road, etc. Plus the library, , , etc.
