Hearing Set To Address Residential Parking Woes Near NUMC: A public hearing has been set for Sept. 3 to discuss a proposed Town of Hempstead local law that would allow a residents-only permit parking system near Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.

National Night Out Focuses on Child Safety: It was fitting that so many children attended Tuesday night's National Night Out event at Veteran's Memorial Park in East Meadow since this year's focus was on child safety.

'Vets' Teams Have Strong Showing at Street Hockey Tourney: Teams from Veteran's Memorial Park in East Meadow gave it their all during the Town of Hempstead's annual street hockey tournament recently held at Seaman's Neck Park in Seaford.

Giving Back to a Man Who's Given So Much: A fundraising campaign has begun for Robert Ehmer, owner of the BP gas station in East Meadow who suffered a massive heart attack in April. Funds will help pay for "ongoing costs associated with hospital expenses, rehabilitation bills, medications, prosthetics, necessary home modifications and other day-to-day expenses they incur."

East Meadow-Based Doctor Convicted in LIRR Fraud Scheme: An East Meadow-based orthopedist was one of three people convicted Tuesday in Manhattan federal court for his participation in a massive fraud scheme in which Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) employees claimed to be disabled upon early retirement so that they could receive federal disability benefits to which they were not entitled.
