3. East Meadow man arrested in connection with Garden City robbery: Sergio Aguirre, 21, of East Meadow was arrested on Dec. 2 and charged with second-degree burglary due to his alleged connection in the burglary of a home on Roosevelt Avenue in Garden City in September.


2. East Meadow School District announces that Feburary break is canceled due to Hurricane Sandy: Students in the East Meadow School District will not have a February vacation due to missed days from Hurricane Sandy and the November Nor'easter.

3. East Meadow woman collects hundreds of gifts for children affected by Hurricane Sandy: Michele Catalano of East Meadow and her friend, Leah Reich, created their website, Sacks for Sandy, and in just one week have collected more than 700 toys for children affected by Sandy.
