WEEKLY RECAP: Meadow Crossing Update, EM Volunteers Save Man's Life

Bulldozers cleared the small lot on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Newbridge Road last week to make room for an upcoming shopping center which will be called “Meadow Crossing”.

When Tom Schreiber saw how passionate his lacrosse captain Chad Wiedmaier was about Fields of Growth, he knew he wanted to get involved. Schreiber, a sophomore at Princeton University and an East Meadow native, boarded a plane on June 22 to head to Uganda to help the locals learn about lacrosse and lend his hand in service as well.

At 07:39 p.m., the (EMFD) received the first call reporting a Signal 9 for a person choking at the at 1868 Front St. in East Meadow. As Rescue 5 and chiefs were now being alerted, countless other East Meadow volunteers from other companies, many carrying EMS certifications of their own, converged on the scene.
