3. : Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) Wednesday seeking the establishment of a bicycle rental concession at in East Meadow.

An East Meadow resident's singing voice is creating quite the buzz on YouTube. In early July, Lynbrook resident Alex Calvo posted a song on YouTube he recorded of Geri Dejohn, a 1983 graduate who now resides in East Meadow. Since posting the video of the song called “When You Walk Out of My Life”, it has been averaging around 1,000 views per week.

K-Kids President Kira Gruber announced the establishment of the Harlie Treanor Memorial Fund, which was established to remember the former East Meadow resident when the boat she was on capsized in Oyster Bay on July 4.
