Thomas Loberto Completes Eagle Scout Project

The East Meadow scout, who's a member of Troop 2830, helped create a safer hiking trail in Stillwell Woods Preserve.

An East Meadow Boy Scout has restored and re-routed a four-mile hiking trail in Stillwell Woods Preserve that became impassable since Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy hit.

Thomas Loberto, of Troop 2830 in East Meadow, performed the work for his Eagle Scout project.

Richard and Lisa Schary, board members of the L.I. Greenbelt Trail Conference, sponsored Loberto's project, which was approved by Norma Gonsalves, presiding officer of the Nassau County Legislature.
