Sept. 27: Aqua Takeover, Mepham Homecoming, Yoga

Some things to keep an eye out for in the local community.

  1. The North and Central Merrick Community Association (NCMCA) held a meeting on Thursday and the hot topic was a possible public takeover of Aqua New York and what that could mean for the community.
  2. Check out Bellmore Patch's photo gallery of the Homecoming Parade that preceded Mepham Football's victory over Jericho to remain undefeated on the season. 
  3. One East Meadow High School alum is doing well in goal for Syracuse Soccer, and her 10th career shutout recently helped the Orange secure a victory.
  4. Head over to the Merrick Library for some intermediate yoga at 5:30 p.m. today.
  5. Are you looking for a competitive ice hockey league? Island Ice Hockey may be what you're looking for. The season starts Sept. 30 and runs until Jan. 15, 2012.
