The new traffic lights recently began functioning fully.

"It's bad enough they changed it back to one lane, but now more lights?" Amy Evans said. "It takes me forever to get down to the Southern State in the morning to get to work. I usually get stuck behind a school bus or a landscaper's truck."

"Today it was backed up from Second Avenue to Hempstead Turnpike because there were so many cars," Bryan Peranzo said. "First they take away a lane in each direction, and now they put up more traffic lights?"

Others are claiming that the New York State Department of Transportation may have out of order.

"I have to say...I think they did this backwards," Debbie Iadevaio said. "They should not have made Newbridge one lane in each direction. They should have left it two lanes and just put up the lights. The one lane is horrible!"
